TJ has been a Certified Personal Trainer since 2008.
Along the way he has had many experiences and obtained several different Specialty Certifications including Golf Exercise, Youth Exercise, and Senior Health Specialist to name a few.
One thing he has learned with being in this industry for over 10 years is we must keep an open mind and continue to learn to bring our clients the best programs for their individual goals.
TJ has lots of success stories with clients that he loves to share to motivate others!
When TJ is not at the gym working with his client’s he enjoys spending time with his wife, stepdaughter and Bentley their dog.
He enjoys anything outdoors from hunting in the winter to boating, biking, and vacationing to different beaches or National Parks.

Mary has been a Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sport’s Medicine since 2007. Since then she has been coaching 1-on-1 personal training, group fitness, and has developed a passion for small group personal training where “community” brings accountability and fun, along with all the benefits that come with personal training! Mary is also a PRONatal Performance Specialist, with the goal of helping women not only through pregnancy, but also to fully recover, enabling them to also live their life to its fullest....whether that means jumping on the trampoline with their kids, climbing the stairs at the water parks, or participating in running or fitness events with confidence. Mary’s greatest joy comes from witnessing clients gain confidence and happiness as they become stronger and are enabled to truly live life to its fullest! Mary is also a wife, a mom of 4, loves to workout, hike, and recently has been attempting to learn the game of golf!

Susan Meyer

Her walk from 22-2! Susan is excited to be a part of the Legacy Personal Training Team! She graduated from AHS in 1993 and went on to continue her education at Upper Iowa University. Although she is not using her K-6 Teaching License, she is using many of the skills she learned in school to successfully teach others about health and fitness. In 2013 she was a size 22 and weighed 210 lbs. Susan was told she was pre-diabetic, her thyroid was wonky, had high blood pressure, in addition to her blood sugars being elevated. Susan HAD to make a change. In 2013 Susan joined a gym, hired a personal trainer, and changed her diet. She lost 85lbs the "hard way" and fell in love the process, and was excited to share her story, motivation, knowledge, and passion with the world! Susan became a personal trainer about 5 years ago. Since beginning her health and fitness journey, Susan has competed in power lifting competitions and stepped on stage in her first NPC bikini show last summer. Susan looks forward to motivating, supporting, and sharing stories with you PLUS helping you gain the knowledge to be successful on your health and fitness journey!

Larry is from West Liberty, IA. He attended the University of Iowa for Exercise Science. Larry has been in the fitness industry for over 10 years working at Golds Gym, Core Fitness, and Elite Edge. He has done all styles of training from personal training and group fitness to sports performance. Larry has a strong passion for helping others reach their goals and help them live a better life! His focus is strength training, weight loss, and making sure you get results.

Jud Schneider

Jud Schneider

Jud is a 3 year NASM certified personal trainer, and Corrective Exercise Specialist. After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa in 2012, he was an intern at the Cedar Falls Recreation Center where he got his first experiences working with clients. After the internship, he built and helped manage Chad’s Pizza on Cedar Falls College Hill District with a few close friends in 2014. Once Chad’s Pizza was up and running, he decided to change directions and moved to Iowa City to become a landscaper for Outdoor Creations in 2016. Although he enjoyed these jobs he knew that he really loved fitness and helping other people, this lead him towards becoming a personal trainer. Once he completed his NASM certified personal trainer certificate in April 2017, Jud was taken on by a local gym in West Des Moines where he trained until being transferred to a location in Ankeny where he had trained for 2 ½ years until Legacy Fitness opened its doors in May of 2020. Jud enjoys teaching clients proper form while making them feel comfortable and confident in and out of the gym setting. He likes working with clients of all ages and skill levels. He feels confident that he can push anybody towards their goals with consistency and hard work.

Christy Andorf

Christy graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2017 with her Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and again in 2020 with her Master’s in Kinesiology. As a part of her graduate studies, Christy conducted her master’s research on exercise and physical activity in breast cancer patients and survivors. She has been a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor since 2014 and recently accepted a position as our Group Fitness Director. She will soon be taking her exam to become an ACE Certified Medical Exercise Specialist, making her qualified to work with a wide variety of individuals living with chronic health conditions and diseases. Christy knows there is no one size fits all or quick fixes to health and fitness- her goal for each of her clients is to educate and inspire them to create a life-long relationship with health and fitness, so that they can become their healthiest and happiest version. When she’s not in the gym, Christy enjoys being outside with her fiancé and their puppies- some of their favorite activities include hiking, biking, outdoor concerts, and traveling to new places.

Paige Devine

Paige is a USAW Sports Performance Coach, Pregnant and Postpartum Athlete Coach, and nutritionist. She began her journey in the health field in 2010 in pursuit of her Physical Therapist Assistant degree. After completing over 500 hours of hands-on experience in rehab facilities across Iowa, she continued her education at Iowa State University in Kinesiology: Exercise Science. Throughout her schooling, she had the opportunity to coach as a Strength and Conditioning Student Coach at The University of Texas at San Antonio and Iowa State University working with over 600 Division I athletes along with multiple NFL players and Olympic Wrestling hopefuls. She has coached countless clients to success and loves empowering and educating others to successfully reach their goals. Paige is a wife and mother. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, lifting, reading, competing in local powerlifting meets, spending time outside, and taking backpacking trips. She enjoys learning and teaching about nutrition, new training approaches, and leadership skills. Paige believes in lifelong learning and teaching sustainable habits.

Carmen Davis

Carmen Davis

Personal Trainer

Carmen is a Personal Trainer, USATriathlon, and USACycling coach who began competing after the age of 40. She has completed two full Ironman triathlon races, three marathons and several Olympic and Sprint distances. She utilizes this experience in teaching new and experienced athletes how to swim and train successfully for triathlons and open water swimming events. Carmen also works with those who want to improve their physical fitness and enhance their ability to perform daily activities. She believes that by improving and maintaining fitness, it creates opportunities for new experiences and friendships.

Jake Harre

Jake is an Ankeny High School and Simpson College graduate. While at Simpson he majored in exercise science while playing football there. Jake has been a personal trainer in Ankeny since 2013. One of his biggest passions is working with youth- He spent 3 years coaching football for the Ankeny Hawks. When he is not working he enjoys spending time outdoors with his family as well as competing in strongman. Jake is also an avid pheasant hunter and fisherman. Just look for the big bearded guy and he would be more than happy to share one of his success stories with you or simply answer any question that you may have!

Darek Garman

Darek graduated from Iowa State with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science. He has been an ACE certified trainer since 2019 and started training in Ames. Darek had the opportunity to intern here during the fall of 2020 and helped start FitKids, a program aimed towards keeping kids in the community active. Through this experience Darek realized he enjoyed working with youth athletes as well as beginners. With just recently graduating Darek’s skills and knowledge of exercise are sharp and he is able to train anyone. Outside of the gym, Darek enjoys playing guitar, staying active outdoors, and taking photos.

Jake Roode

Jake graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science and is an ACE Certified Personal Trainer. He has been a personal trainer in Ankeny since 2018 and has extensive background knowledge in sports performance and functional fitness. Playing football and rugby throughout high school, Jake has done a lot of strength training and power training to be the strongest possible on the field. Since no longer playing sports Jake realized that he no longer needs to train this way and that fitness to him now means something else. Fitness is being functionally strong enough to perform daily tasks with ease and maintaining healthy joints and range of motion. His goal for each of his clients is to understand what fitness is to them and to effectively train them to be the best version of themselves. In his free time he enjoys exploring outside, walking his dogs and the occasional gaming.

I am a Certified Health & Wellness Coach, Personal Trainer and Ergonomist who has huge PASSION for food, exercise, emotions and helping people feel and be well! I started my journey over 17 years ago as a stay-at-home Mom wanting to get some weight off. I began taking exercises classes at night and found myself loving it! I was asked to substitute teach one night, so I did it and never looked back. I took health by the horns! I fell in love with making healthy living a priority for me and my family. I became a certified personal trainer in 2007 and opened an exercise studio in uptown Ankeny. I have since worked in the corporate world as an ergonomist, yoga instructor and wellness advocate. In 2018, I started my business, Coached by Kimberley and finished schooling to become a licensed and certified health and wellness coach with Wellcoaches, School of Coaching. I feel quality of life comes down to our four pillars of health; food, exercise, sleep & stress. You can’t have one without the others. I continue to explore research and educate myself regularly. I have always found that being holistic and cutting through the mainstream jargon has jived well with me.

Susie Roberts

Susie has been a steadfast believer in and promoter of health her entire life! At age 49 she went back to school at Iowa State University, taking on the rigorous and heavily science-based degree and internship program to become a registered dietitian nutritionist, her fourth career. Susie specializes in making nutrition simple, and meeting people where they are at. There is no ‘one-size fits all’ solution, and Susie has found nutrition and well-being are much more than ‘calories in vs. calories out.’ Health is complex…and very personal. That is why she is passionate about helping individual work towards their goals, (not hers!), by eating real food and incorporating a non-diet approach to balanced nutrition. Before joining Legacy Fitness, Susie served as the Nutrition Services Director for two years at a start-up company focused on community health, with the unique goal of linking clinic to community. Programming efforts center around disease prevention and treatment for chronic conditions such as diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular health, and obesity. Susie’s background includes an extensive career in employee benefits, including fifteen years in health insurance, as well as corporate wellness and health promotion. This gives her a unique perspective on her current work as a registered and licensed dietitian. In her free time, Susie enjoys spending time with her husband, Ted, and adult son, Tyler, and extended family. You’ll also see her frequently attending 5 am classes at Legacy Fitness. In addition, Susie volunteers for the Iowa Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as the Insurance Reimbursement Chair, to advocate for her profession as well as represent Iowa dietitians when it comes to health insurance coverage. Anna Myers

Anna Myers is a student at Ankeny High School. She started swimming at 7 years old and swam competitively for 8 years. Growing up in the water, her knowledge of the sport quickly grew. Anna has her American Red Cross swim instructor certification. She has taught group and private swim lessons at Dowling High school and individual private lessons over the summer. Anna has experiences with all ages. She loves encouraging kids to try new things and gain confidence in the water! In her free time Anna enjoys spending time with friends and family at the lake, boating, and paddle boarding
